The first stone was placed in 1983 for Paul Quill a combat engineer with the 7th Engineer Bn., who was killed by a sniper at a bridge site south of DaNang. The site was provided for the Vietnam Vets memorial by the town of Weymouth for 99 years. All donations for the site were provided by private citizens
