Bug Juice

Bug juice was meant to be used for repelling insects, and it worked well for that; but we found other uses for it, too. It was flamable, so it could be used for starting fires. If you took the C-rat peanut butter and stirred in some bug juice and lit it, it made just the right size fire to heat a can of water for coffee.
